     Liesl is an award-winning Nurse Leader with more than 30 years of experience specializing in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care, Nursing Regulation and Risk Management. Liesl has devoted the last 19 years to the protection of the public as a member of the New York State Board of Nursing.

    From 2000-2005 she served as an Auxiliary member the board. From 2005-2015 she served as a full board member, being elected twice as chairperson.  Effective November 1st, 2015 her appointment to the Extended Board was approved by the Board of Regents for the next 5 years. As a member of the board she screens professional misconduct claims, participates in disciplinary hearings and provides input on changes in scope of practice for nurses.  

    In 2015 she launched her own Legal Nurse Consulting practice, DL Grant Consultants LLC. The consultants support their mission of “Maintaining the Standards of Care” by educating nurses on scope of practice, empowering patients on their rights to safe and competent care and working with attorneys on professional misconduct and medical malpractice cases.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing - City College School of Nursing- CUNY 
• Clinical Specialty Master of Science in Nursing - Adelphi University
• Post-Master Certificate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Hunter College-CUNY
• Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate also from Hunter College.
